The Expo started in the year 2000 with the committee having a core objective to deliver a 'one stop shop' to local farmers, so that if they were busy, they could visit, do their business and leave having spent a valuable couple of hours researching. Today, the event still has the same focus.
The Expo provides an opportunity for members of the dairying fraternity to be able to showcase the latest in dairy innovation and technology to local farmers.
South Gippsland is lucky to be the home of some exceptional dairy farm enterprises which form a significant part of our rural community. The Expo would not be a 21-year success story without the tremendous support and help from its community and their volunteers.
The Lions Club of Strzelecki have distributed over $600K back into community programs through their activities. All proceeds made from this 2020 event in the Gippsland cloud will make their way back down on the ground into communities to help make a difference.
The Plans for 2020
The Lions Club of Strzelecki have been hosting the South Gippsland Dairy Expo for 21-years on the ground. The year 2020 is about doing things differently, so we have decided to float around in one of those picturesque Gippsland clouds, where the rain doesn’t matter.
The South Gippsland Dairy Expo is moving to a cloud-based event for 2020. A platform where all our loyal sponsors and exhibitors can continue to conduct their business and likewise our loyal patrons can find their one stop shop about dairy.
The event will be promoted extensively through both National and Regional news platforms, via web based applications and over the radio. So let’s unite and stand proud to deliver a professional hub that showcases the best products and services in the dairy industry to Gippsland and to Australia.
